Beach fun Bull shit

Yesterday I went off a little about how all beaches should be nude beaches this morning on the news I heard that the group of Nude Sunbathers that were trying to save San Onofre beach which has been used for nude sunbathing for decades lost there battle in Federal court. How backwards and ridicules is that. Some mornings creating the type of swimwear we do is just work with all the stress that comes from running a small business, other mornings like today I feel like it is more of my mission to keep you as close to nude as is possible.
What could these judges possibly be thinking. It just goes to show one step forward 3 steps back. I think my next design will be called the San Onofre, my little protest!

As you know and already said in many posts, we in Europe (Portugal included) are very much like open minded and it is usual to see women wearing thongs and in topless at "normal" beaches; it is even becoming more "normal" to see some men wearing thongs at these beaches as well; on the other hand, we have already some 10 or more recognized nude beaches and another 20 or so that are not "officially recognized", but the people that go there usually practice nudity; not everyone does that, but the ones who don't, know that these beaches have "special characteristics" and if they go there, it is because they are ready to see whatever they will see and no one complains about what others are wearing (or not wearing at all) at the beach. Since we are a country with considerably (very much, i would say) less population than the U.S., the discrepancy is a bit shocking for me. Before i came across with your blog i even thought that, since many of the manufacturers of small or micro bikinis are based in the U.S., you would have much more "officially recognized" nude beaches over there...
When you "declare" a beach as a "nude" beach, or "tolerated", people that go to that beach know what kind of beach it is and if they don't feel comfortable there, they can go somewhere else. And someone that goes to a nude or tolerated nude beach doesn't goes there "by mistake"...
What a shame for your politicians to be so "backward minded".
Keep up the good work designing these fabulous suits, so that more and more people wear them, maybe it will change some powerful people's minds...

    Hey Michael,
Enjoyed your comments on San Onofre Beach. Sad to see tolerance of our naked bodies go backwards. Take heart. I just read a report on that issue. The AANR and NAC nudist organizations are continuing the fight with lawsuits against the DPR and with counter appeals to the courts - always a fight, long, legal and expensive, just to be able to do something perfectly natural -being naked at the edge of the ocean, as natural as wanting to breathe the clean sea air.

Congratulations on your efforts to let us go as near nude as possible in your designs.

    Regards,
    Rob

Curiously enough there are quite a few nude beaches in France (official or tolerated) but I notice that often people at these beaches have a hard time tolerating "non-nude" people. And this is not only targetting the voyeur type who gets there all dressed-up with binoculars, but also the people wearing micro thongs!
So you, sometime, feel more comfortable wearing a thong on a "normal" beach than on a nude beach.
Anyway, it is true that I would usually go naked on a nude beach, but every now and then I like the feeling of a very tight Koala micro bikini or thong. And then I have to assess which type of beach I would go to and exhibit myself without shocking the local crowd!
