The Enlightened man
I spent a little time the other day wondering around the Getty Museum. I had an appointment in the area and the Getty is one of my favorite hang outs, I enjoy the art and views if have a little extra time. If you are visiting Los Angeles in th future and have not made it to the Getty, make sure to add it to your list. It is one of the most beautiful art museums in the world. Stunning art and beyond stunning views. Maybe it is the business I am in seeing nude and semi nude bodies all the time, I am always drawn to the nudes, they are so amazing. Through out history artists have celebrated male and female bodies. A Japanese central art theme is the erect penis, for centuries it has been admired and revered in their culture as a thing of beauty. European art liberally uses male and female bodies but it is much more unusual to see men with erections. What does this have to do with the swimwear business?
When someone asks me to explain our design philosophy I aways tell them our suits are penis centric. The penis in many shapes and sizes are always the focus of our designs. I can not figure out why people want to hide it away like it is something to be ashamed of. It is half of what creates future generations and it gives us tremendous pleasure. It has an attraction to men and women that goes beyond the conscious level. Part of our genetic make-up. Many cultures and many religions work hard to make us feel guilty about our feelings toward the human body. The change to a truly free spirit comes from within, the bonds of culture and religion can be shattered. True consciousness is there for the taking. Maybe this is a little too deep for a swimwear designer to be bloging about but I feel freeing yourself of the guilt you may feel over your body is a great first step.

I agree, fine art definitely includes the erotic.
I remember visiting the V&A museum here in London & seeing a Japanese ceramic figure of a fisherman in what looked like a brief black thong, possibly by Koala - except the figure was I think 19th C, and I guess wearing some kind of close-fitting loin-cloth. Looked like a thong to me!
Then Saint Sebastian is often depicted erotically, with a low-slung cloth round his hips, his hands bound behind his back, & his skin pierced by many arrows - here's an example in London's National Gallery:
