Back to my day at the beach this last Sunday. Not only was it beautiful and not too busy but there was a great breeze blowing and I saw a guy down the beach putting together a Kite surfer to practice with. I took a few kite surfing lesson a few years ago and almost killed myself. I figured that since I was very good at sail boarding that I would be able to pick up kite surfing with little effort. I had watched small girls handle them no problem. It turned out to be a ton of technique and not much in the way of muscle. I thought I got it but on my last lesson I got caught in a nice gust of wind and was dragged out of the water, across the beach and almost ended up on Pacific Coast Hwy. No amount of muscle could help me it was sheer luck I did not end up under a moving car. If you have never seen a kite surfing rig they are just beautiful. They do take a while to set up and I watched him set his up and then drifted off to sleep. About a half an hour later I heard some noise just on the other side and once I took the towel off my face I noticed a guy setting up another kite right next to me, me in my tiny Dangerous Thong. My first thought was this guy had the whole beach to set up his very large kite why on top of me. He was staring at me and smiling so I said hi and waived. I decided to be brave and walk over to see him setting it up. These things really do excite me as does walking over almost nude to introduce myself. The first thing I noticed on the other side of his kite was a girl sitting there watching which turned out to be his girlfriend. More next post this is a long story!
